New ryokan at Shibu Onsen hot spring!
Shibu Onsen has a rich history spanning over 1,300 years, “Koishiya Ryokan” was elaborately built by craftsmen in the early Showa Period (1926–1989). Regrettably, it had to close its doors. However, in August 2015, it was brought back to life to to continue its wonderful legacy for future generations.
Koishiya Ryokan has been invigorated with a mix of old and new. The Japanese-style guest rooms retain their original charm, while the ryokan has been revamped to suit today’s quick travel style. It is now a pleasant and budget friendly inn. We also have a breakfast café for its guests and outside guests. We also serve excellent coffee made to perfection by our in house barista.
STAY
The Japanese-style rooms are characterised by its exquisite wooden features and other intricate details made by highly skilled craftsmen in the early Showa Period.
After you check in, since our staff will not enter your room, please set your futon by yourself.
There is no TV and no refrigerator in the room. A yukata robe, bath towels, and face towels, toothbrush, razor, shampoo and bodysoap are provided free of charge. No other amenities are provided (except in dormitory rooms). The showers and restrooms are communally shared and have been renovated (the restrooms are separate for men and women).
※KOISHIYA RYOKAN is old wooden building. We kindly ask you to stay quiet between 10pm-7am.
※There is NO elevator in our buildhing.

■Japanese-style room
The room size (6 to 10 tatami mats) will differ depending on the number of guests intending to stay in the room.
*Please note that guests cannot request which room to stay in.
Price: 2 people per room, starting from 5,500 yen (tax included) per adult
■Dormitory
A male dormitory with one single bed and one bunk bed for two people. Amenities: Yukata, bath towel, face towel, toothbrush, razor, earplugs.
Price: 3,200 yen (tax included) per adult

The first floor of the ryokan is a café.
In the morning, you can enjoy our speciality coffee brewed by our in-house barista and breakfast menu (currently being renewed).
Guests staying at nearby ryokan can also drop by for a beakfast and nice hot cup of coffee! (take-away is also possible).
Hot Spring / SPA
Guests staying at Koishiya Ryokan can enjoy the 9 public local baths that Shibu Onsen has to offer for free (from 6am till 10pm). All the baths have different sources and different properties. Experience Japanese traditional onsen culture in style while wearing Yukata and walking on wooden sandels (geta).
A private inside bath is also available at our sister location (Kadoya Ryokan, 3 minutes walking from Koishiya). The price is 500 yen per person. Please make a reservation at the front desk.

※Koishiya Ryokan does not have a hot spring facility in the building. However we do have two private showers that are available for 24 hours.
